Knowledge Article Title: | MODBUS device setup in the MODBUS editor with special characters. |
Description: | When a MODBUS device is setup in the MODBUS editor with special characters and saved, the library of MODBUS devices will no longer be available. |
Keywords: | RMS-CONVERTER-100, MODBUS editor, MODBUS devices, special character |
Software Edition: | N/A |
Software Version: | N/A |
R&D Project Number: | RMS-CONVERTER-3087 |
Product Part Number: | RMS-CONVERTER-100 |
Product Firmware Version: | V1.6 |
Issue: | When adding a MODBUS device with a special character in the name, a bug will occur and the MODBUS device library will no longer be visible. However, within RMS the library will still be visible when adding a new device via the RMS-CONVERTER-100. |
Solution: |
The solution will only work if the MODBUS device name with the special character is known. The device must be deleted and recreated with a new name without the special character. Please use the "Postman" freeware to create a driver to delete the MODBUS device file that is stored on the RMS-CONVERTER-100. Example: IP address: 10.65.21.91 MODBUS device name: Tést. |
Details: | The MODBUS device name is visible with RMS under the RMS-CONVERTER-100, add a new device. |
